Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Please join us in honouring Juneteenth, and for a discussion across Canada and the United States on anti-black racism and ways to counter this hate and discrimination. This is the second in a series of NAMEN Speaks events, where we are exploring different aspects of backlash in our societies. For this event we are hearing from speakers on the intersections of racial and gender justice.

We are developing a lineup of speakers, including so far:

  • Elder Cat Criger (Indigenous Elder and Knowledge Keeper) – Opening
  • Dr. Wesley Crichlow, PHD

Professor and scholar activist whose work dovetails at the intersections of Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, Theories of Enslavism, Critiquing the Scourges of Anti-Blackness, Decolonizing Black Freedom, Decolonizing Black Humanity, Black Masculinities & Trans and Black Same-Gender Love

  • Others to be added

Date: June 25, 2025
