Brief Biography
Rob Okun: Editor Emeritus of VOICE MALE magazine, an online and print publication chronicling the profeminist men's movement. After editing the magazine for a quarter century, initially while serving as associate director and later executive director of the Massachusetts-based Men’s Resource Center for Change.
I edited VOICE MALE independently from Fall 2008 until Summer 2024 when the magazine was acquired by the Canadian NGO Next Gen Men.
Commentaries and op-eds I've written on issues related to men and gender justice have appeared in a variety of print publications and websites including Ms., the Dallas Morning, Houston Chronicles, The London Telegraph, and I am syndicated by PeaceVoice. My commentaries on men and violence, fathering, and women's rights have been broadcast on public radio, and I have spoken at a number of universities and colleges. In addition to having served on the NAMEN steering committee and board for many years, I'm also served on the steering committee of the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities.
